This is my first ever Amazon review. I just couldn't sit back and watch these little skins get slammed when people were cramming them on the wrong camera.
First of all, these skins are meant for the Flip Video Classic. The lens is off center. If you do not have the Classic, do not buy these skins. If you do have it, I highly recommend them. And if you buy them even though you don't have the Classic, have the class not to give a bad rating just because you made the wrong choice.
So, start by checking your camera. Is the lens off center? Look at the holes in the skins on the picture. Would they fit your camera right?
Now why should you buy these? A) they are cute! B) they are easy to use C) they are interchangeable D) they protect your snazzy Flip Video E) they are non-slip.
Mine came in a day before expected, a welcome surprise at the front door. I grabbed the pink one and slid it on the camera. It fit perfectly. The power button is covered, but still works easily. The USB arm is also covered, but its location makes it easy to get to, as the skin will just pull over the corner of the camera. The skin is fairly thick which gives me confidence that it will withstand a bit more of a tumble than it would have. It is also somewhat slip-resistant so little hands (like my 6 year old's) can cling to it better.
All in all I love the skins. Get them, but only if you have the right camera. And if you don't have the right camera but buy them anyway - don't leave a bad review just because you made a mistake. |
Great protective skins

The skins are great if you own the older version of the Flip Video camcorder (the ones that are not "Ultra"). They are thick and strong enough to protect against scratches and bumps. You have three colors to chose form (two color and clear) and they are easy enough to put on and get off your camcorder.
These skins do not seem to be designed as a fashion accessory but if you are looking to protect your camcorder in most environments - this is a great solution.

I have an older style Flip and found this to be a very good product. It provides good protection and also adds a nice, bright color which makes it easy to find your camera in a dark purse or bag.
If you have a newer style Flip, please note that this skin WILL NOT fit your camera. That's why it says "flip classic" in the title. ;) |

This pack comes with 3 skins which fit the classic camcorder. They are cute, easy to put on, fun. I just fold the upper half of the skin down to plug the camera into my computer and slip it off if I need to change the batteries.
I currently have the orange skin on and it makes it so much easier to locate the camera than when it was just plain white. It also keeps all the crumbs and stuff out of the camera parts when the camera is tucked in the baby bag or with other kids' stuff.
All these bad reviews are by people who got them for the wrong camera. They are Unfair reviews, in my opinion - and I have no stock in this company! It's a GREAT product!

| These particular skins do not fit the Flip Ultra series, but with some minor modifications I found them to work exceptionally well with the Ultra series. Worth it to protect the camera. I recommend them if you don't mind making a few modifications. |
